1) How are EUROFOX substructure systems divided?
We offer vertical systems and horizontal systems. The choice depends on the cladding type as well as the structural circumstances. Vertical systems, for example, are often used on brickwork or concrete masonry. Horizontal systems on the other hand are very often used on steel construction. We will be pleased to advise you.
2) Which bracket type is mainly used in vertical systems?
MACFOX brackets. It is possible to use them for horizontal systems with lighter cladding elements, e.g. lightweight, etc.
3) Which bracket type is mainly used for horizontal systems?
XFOX brackets. They are used for vertical systems with heavy cladding elements, e.g. natural stone, terracotta, etc. Due to the special geometry of the structural framework, high load-bearing capabilities at a small cross section are possible.
4) What minimum and maximum cavity space to the exterior wall can be implemented with MACFOX and with XFOX?
MACFOX - Zones from 42 - 350mm (excluding cladding) can be accommodated in 1mm increments.
X-Fox can accommodate zones from 72 to 220mm .
5) Does the construction of the facade allow potential dimension changes due to different material properties of cladding materials and aluminium of the EUROFOX systems?
Yes. The use of MACFOX brackets with vertical profiles utilised fixed and flexible point and thus allows for expansion/contraction caused by temperature differences. Cladding materials are also installed by means of the fixed and flexible point system. This means that in the flexible points the hole diameter in the cladding material is larger than the diameter of the fixing element. For further details, see the drawing series.
6) What information does EUROFOX need to submit an offer?
EUROFOX needs a completed 'project checklist' in order to submit an offer. (You will find the 'project checklist' in the download section) In addition, the elevation plans of the facade including panel spacing as well as vertical and horizontal sections. It would be of assistance if the plans were submitted in electronic form (.dwg).
7) Which joint solutions are recommended for ventilated facades?
The variety of possibilities for joint design at hung ventilated facades is basically unlimited. The choice particularly depends on the cladding material and the EUROFOX system chosen. For example, in facades with large-format facade panels, the horizontal joints are very often 'open'. Joints can also be 'baffled' by different joint treatments. EUROFOX offers different joint profiles. We will be pleased to advise you in designing the joints. Furthermore, detailed solutions can be seen in our drawing series.
